Why is a guy who doesn't really believe in reiki leaving a dove-star review?
Because whether I believe in it or not, it helped give my dying cat another month of life, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Scout was a fighter, but she was 19, had had her second round of radiation postponed several times due to seizures caused by her cancer, and after several days in the animal hospital the poor kitten just wasn't recovering from her third (most recent) seizure. It was time to make a hard decision. Except for the cancer and some arthritis, she was healthy and active, but now she was lethargic, barely raised her head or opened her eyes when I petted her during visitation.
Anyone who has been at this juncture with a loved one or pet knows that you do a bit of grasping at straws because, really, why not? I remembered working w Mary years ago in her corporate life, and we'd kept in touch on Facebook when she went into her current vocation. Reiki on a cat? What's to lose? I was already getting ready to schedule an in-home pet euthanasia service, why not try something to keep the kitten alive?
Luckily, Mary has an opening that afternoon and met me at the animal hospital. I don't know it it was energy channeling or crystals, something in the oils she used, the gentle petting and stroking, but after an hour Scout was amazingly back to her old self. Not only was she wide awake and aware, she was getting up and eating.
I might be a skeptic, but evidence is evidence.
I called on Mary several more times over the next four weeks. Her work had a wonderful effect on Scout -- not always as miraculous as the first, but clearly an observational difference in the little cat's energy and awareness.
In the end, even reiki couldn't fight that last debilitating seizure (while on seizure meds) that sealed Scout's fate, but Mary and her talents gave me another month with a best friend to hang with her and say goodbye, and to me that's priceless.

I first worked with Mary Moonstar when I hired her to create what I called the Esoteric Vibrations Lounge, with tarot, energy and breath work, reiki, sound baths, etc. at a party I threw. The lounge was a huge hit, and one of my closest friends credited Mary with giving her insight that led her to make huge changes in her life. But I really got to experience Mary's wisdom up close when I subsequently went through a difficult break up and, at a personal low point, was reaching out to anyone who had insights to give that might help me. Being a person based in science and logic, I have never been what one would consider "spiritual." But what was great about talking with and leaning on Mary was the fact that, while her spiritual knowledge and experience is vast, she also has the ability to connect it to the logical, tangible and emotional. She doesn't only lean on cards, astrology and what have you. She takes her understanding of the esoteric, but is able to apply it to the real world, with tangible steps, tools to help you find your level of spirituality, useful real world strategies and perspective, and a deep well of sensitivity and understanding. I can honestly say that without Mary's insight and support, I would not have been able to take the appropriate steps to rebuild my relationship, which I was able to do after a period of introspection and continued guidance from Mary. I am thankful that our paths crossed, and I would urge anyone in need of direction, coaching, insight and the like, both spiritual and otherwise, to consider connecting with her.

Mary Moonstar is absolutely amazing! She is truly connected, blows me away with everything that comes to her! I have been consulting with her for over five years and she always guides me toward the right path. Wonderful, caring, kind and sweet. We have a large-breed dog who is nearly 16 years old and her reiki massage has been instrumental in healing, maintaining his hind legs and keeping him going. We are so grateful to her and happy to recommend her! Yay

An excellent yoga instructor, very knowledgeable, she explains everything in detail and has helped me improve my postures. One time an elderly friend of mine joined our class and she was superb in knowing exactly how to help him with the postures sitting on a chair, it was such a comfortable experience. She's very dependable, is always on time and very professional. My family and I trust her in our home, she even started teaching another friend who was here to visit one day.
